Happy Akshaya Tritiya! (:

Last weekend India celebrated Akshaya Tritiya! One of my favorite holidays, since it's a day to give each other gold >:) hehe

There are several meanings for this holiday, one of course being a Hindu holiday for Lakshmi and Ganesha... which happen to be my and my brother's names too =) I love that India has so many holidays and always a good reason to celebrate!

"The word "Akshaya" means the never diminishing in Sanskrit and the day is believed to bring good luck and success... growth and prosperity." It's a day for charity, blessings and new beginnings. Apparently... it's also a good day to give or buy Gold... for symbolic reasons of course ;)
